The Master Gardeners in San Jacinto County were the ground breakers of the Coldspring Community Center Memorial Garden. In late 2013 the group took on the task of the original design of the late Connie Heimann, charter member of the Master Gardeners in San Jacinto County. Connie, the groups oldest and most energetic member passed away before the garden blossomed. Under the direction of Karla Fratt, chairman of the project, the dream came "to bloom". Sidewalks, a patio, soil, plants and mulch were installed by the organization with their own budgeted monies.

The next phase of the Butterfly Memorial Garden has been initiated. The "Paver Project" as it is called is a fundraising and tribute to the garden. You can purchase a brick or choice of two different sizes of pavers to be placed in the garden. You may honor a loved one that has passed, a loved one that is still here to see the tribute, or honor a community worker, business or organization. The first phase in ordering is about to come to the closing deadline of April 10th. For information regarding the paver project you may go to www.polarengraving.com/SJCMasterGardeners
