Shepherd ISD held the January board meeting recognizing January as SchoolBoard Appreciation Month. Superintendent Steve Pierce acknowledged the board members for their dedication and support. Each campus presented the members with appreciation gifts and Levi Seagroves presented for Shepherd Primary School a book to the Shepherd School Board.
Retirees were honored for their dedication with plaques for their service to Shepherd ISD. Honorees were Jan Page with 35 Years of Service and Janie Ferguson with 25 Years of Service to the district.
Campus reports included enrollment and attendance percentages on record. The Primary Campus has an enrollment of 520 with a 95.9% attendance record. The Intermediate Campus has 428 enrolled with attendance of 96%. The Middle School Campus has an enrollment of 410 with 96.3% in attendance. The High School Campus has 539 enrolled with a 94% attendance record.
The board gave approval to approve building use for Bridge of Hope Church. Employee recommendation and resignations were accepted, and approval of two teaching positions with coaching stipends for boys and girls soccer. The next board meeting is scheduled for February 15.
